From masking the amount of people on the beach or in a pool, to the size of the pool, to the location of the hotel, photos can be deceiving, even without using Photoshop.

 Finding out the truth of a hotel can be as easy as calling and having them describe an issue, or visiting popular traveling sites, such as TripAdvisor.

 However, hotels need to put on their best face online, so showing their best rooms, views, and areas is no surprise. But if you are planning a trip, make sure to complete a check list before leaving your home. Lock your doors and windows, unplug nonessential appliances and gadgets, and prepare your car.

 Homes are sitting ducks for burglars when they are unoccupied, so secure everything you can.
