In Massachusetts, we are very proud of our rich history and today, we get an extra special reason to celebrate. Today is Patriots’ Day and it commemorates the battles of Lexington and Concord in 1775. It was the “shot heard ‘round the world” and it still resonates with us now, as it marked the beginning of our fight for independence.
There are lots of ways that we celebrate Patriots’ Day. For one thing, the Boston Marathon is held every year on Patriots’ Day. There are also the battle re-enactments that are held in Lexington and Concord (for more information about places and times, click here and click on the “Info for Visitors” link).
